I have super talented friends! One in particular is Kathy – she has a highly technical job and in her “spare” time she makes fantastic nut butters, cookies and knits fabulous beaded bags. She uses size 0000 needles and yarn that is the size of thread. I can’t imagine the patience and keen eyesight she must have to focus on each teeny, tiny bead and stitch. The bags have been hand made since the late 1800’s – not by Kathy, she started in the 2003. There are hundreds of beads per square inch of knitting. They may be knitted in any color. The beaded bags are heirlooms to the women who own them – lucky girls! They are perfect for Brides, Bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride. I guess I’ll go back to using my size 10.5 needles and knitting scarves. Perhaps, one day I’ll graduate to beaded purses. On second thought, I’ll leave those creations to Kathy! Enjoy:
